Jacurri Brown - Lands with Rice Brown will transfer to Rice, per Matt Zenitz of CBSSports.com.
Impact Brown was limited to three games this season for UCF, completing 3-of-5 passes for 97 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The former blue-chip recruit's best season came in 2024 with the Knights when he totaled 799 yards and five touchdowns. With one more year of eligibility, he'll look to help elevate the Rice offense.
5 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Aaron Turner - Huge volume, limited output Turner recorded 10 receptions for 24 yards and a touchdown during Friday's 41-10 loss versus Texas State. He added six carries for 29 yards.
Impact Turner hit the 10-reception threshold for the first time this season, but he failed to reach 25 receiving yards. He had more success as a rusher, but 53 total yards on 16 touches isn't exactly great efficiency. The senior set career bests in receptions (63), receiving touchdowns (4), rushing yards (259) and rushing touchdowns (3) this season. He logged 398 receiving yards.
JANUARY 3 • ROTOWIRE
Quinton Jackson - Bounces back in bowl game Jackson accrued 16 carries for 78 yards during Friday's 41-10 defeat to Texas State.
Impact Jackson ended the regular season with a dud, rushing twice for a total of three yards. He handled more of a typical workload Friday, but he failed to find the end zone. He'll end the 2025 season having accumulated 180 rushing attempts for 889 yards and four rushing touchdowns.
JANUARY 3 • ROTOWIRE
Patrick Crayton Jr. - Scores during bowl Crayton was 4-for-9 passing for 70 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Friday's 41-10 defeat to Texas State.
Impact Crayton's 2025 season will include a touchdown, albeit on a disappointing line logged during Rice's bowl game. The quarterback may have edged out fellow quarterback Lucas Scheerhorn in terms of bowl performance, but it still leaves a lot to be desired and his 2026 role in limbo. Crayton's 2025 season features five times as many turnovers (three fumbles lost, two interceptions) as touchdowns (one).
JANUARY 3 • ROTOWIRE
Lucas Scheerhorn - Start with split reps Scheerhorn completed 6 of 9 passes for 16 yards during Friday's 41-10 defeat to Texas State. He also had six rushes for negative nine yards.
Impact Despite starting under center against Texas State, Scheerhorn split reps with Patrick Crayton, and the former's resulting log was even more unimpressive without maximized opportunities to excel. Going into 2026, Scheerhorn does not have a secure role with Rice, especially after a 2025 season during which he logged more fumbles (two) than touchdowns (zero).
JANUARY 3 • ROTOWIRE
Tyson Thompson - Suited up in bowl game Thompson (undisclosed) suited up in Rice's bowl game with Texas State.
Impact Thompson logged a carry and 23 kick-return yards, and though they are not receiving stats, they indicate that he finished off his 2025 season healthy. During it, the wide receiver logged eight receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns, all career-highs.

JANUARY 3 • NYPOST.COM
Lucas Scheerhorn - Making first career start Scheerhorn will make his first career start in the Armed Forces Bowl against Texas State on Friday, the bowl game announced.
Impact Scheerhorn has thrown for 24 yards this season and ran for 23 across limited action in two games. The redshirt freshman will now get a chance to show what he can do in a full start with both Chase Jenkins and Drew Devillier in the transfer portal. It'll be a tough matchup against a heavily favored Bobcats team, but Scheerhorn will look to put his name into the mix for the Owls' starting QB gig next fall.

Impact Jenkins, who started the entire regular season for the Owls, is set to enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. He completed 69.2 percent of his 172 passes for 1,025 yards and nine touchdowns, adding 531 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. There has not yet been an indication of whether he will play in Friday's game versus Texas State in the First Responders Bowl.

Bowl officials seek 5-7 teams to fill in after Irish, Iowa St, Kansas St say they're done for year

Bowl organizers were left scrambling to create matchups after Notre Dame, Iowa State and Kansas State announced they would decline bids despite being eligible
DECEMBER 7, 2025 • Associated Press
Drew Devillier - Gets opportunity in blowout loss Devillier was 3 of 9 passing for 65 yards during Saturday's 52-3 defeat against South Florida.
Impact Devillier subbed into Saturday's game against USF, throwing a season-high 65 yards. He has 123 yards this year and one touchdown pass, and will look for more playing time next year, whether that is at Rice or not.
DECEMBER 2, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Chase Jenkins - Sustains possible concussion Jenkins is being evaluated for a concussion after he took a big hit against USF in the regular season finale, per The Rice Thresher.
Impact Jenkins only passed for 39 yards and ran for 34 as Rice got blown out by South Florida, 52-3. He was taken out of the game, evaluated for a concussion, and replaced by Drew Devillier. Rice, having won only five games this season, isn't bowl eligible and so Jenkins' season is officially over. The quarterback tossed for 1,025 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing for 531 yards and five scores.
DECEMBER 2, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Aaron Turner - Sets career high in loss to USF Turner posted seven receptions (on 10 targets) for 99 yards during Saturday's 52-3 loss versus South Florida.
Impact Turner ended the season strong, setting a career high with 99 yards in what could be his final college game. Despite only having 374 receiving yards, the Cincinnati transfer led the Owls in yards, receptions, and tied for the team lead with three receiving touchdowns.
DECEMBER 1, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Quinton Jackson - Not much of a workload in finale Jackson notched two carries for three yards during Saturday's 52-3 defeat against South Florida.
Impact Jackson did close to nothing this week, but was one of Rice's only bright spots on offense this season. The junior totaled 811 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 164 carries, and it will be interesting to see if he decides to return next year after taking a massive step.
DECEMBER 1, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Chase Jenkins - Ends year in disappointing fashion Jenkins was six of nine passing for 39 yards during Saturday's 52-3 loss to South Florida. He also had 11 rushes for 34 yards.
Impact In what has been an up-and-down year, Jenkins couldn't finish it the right way, accounting for only 73 total yards before getting pulled. The sophomore finished with 1,025 passing yards, 531 rushing yards, 14 total touchdowns, and two interceptions, and will likely have to fight for a starting role again next season.
DECEMBER 1, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Drayden Dickmann - One catch in blowout loss Dickmann (undisclosed) caught 1 of 3 targets for four yards during Saturday's 52-3 loss against South Florida.
Impact Dickmann was previously listed as questionable ahead of Saturday's contest due to an undisclosed injury, but was able to suit up against the Bulls. The 5-foot-11 receiver was held quiet on the day, catching just a single pass for four yards in a game USF controlled from the start. Dickmann finished the regular season with 37 receptions for 323 yards and three touchdowns through 12 games. With Rice finishing just 5-7 on the year, Dickmann will have to wait until the start of the 2026 season for his next chance to make an impact.
NOVEMBER 30, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Tyson Thompson - DNP for Week 14 Thompson (undisclosed) did not play during Saturday's 52-3 loss at South Florida.
Impact Thompson's 2025 season has come to a close with back-to-back DNPs. Before then, he logged some sort of yardage in each of Rice's games. Thompson recorded 105 receiving yards, 60 kick-return yards, 36 punt-return yards and 27 rushing yards.
NOVEMBER 30, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Tyson Thompson - Questionable vs. USF Thompson (undisclosed) is questionable for Saturday's game versus South Florida.
Impact Thompson is in danger of missing a second consecutive game, as he's still battling an undisclosed injury. If he ends up being unable to play, Rice could be shorthanded at receiver as Landon Ransom-Goelz (undisclosed) and Braylen Walker (undisclosed) have both been ruled out.
NOVEMBER 29, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Landon Ransom-Goelz - Not playing Saturday Ransom-Goelz (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday's game versus South Florida.
Impact Ransom-Goelz will mis yet another game, as he's battled injuries all season. He has six catches for 63 yards and one touchdown in six outings and could have a chance to play in a bowl game should Rice win on Saturday.
NOVEMBER 29, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Drayden Dickmann - Added to injury report Dickmann (undisclosed) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against South Florida.
Impact Dickmann is at risk of missing Saturday's regular-season finale. An upset win over USF would make Rice bowl eligible. In 11 games this season, Dickmann has caught 36 of 58 targets for 319 yards and three touchdowns.
