Simeon Evans - Plays WR in season finaleEvans caught 11 passes for 110 yards versus MTSU on Saturday.

ImpactEvans spent one year as a quarterback at Army, and then transferred to Sam Houston when it was still an FCS program. This year, he was still seen as a backup quarterback, and not even the main backup. So, in the season finale, the Bearkats decided to see what he could do as a wide receiver. Looks like Evans will have a new role in 2024.

ImpactSmith was questionable for this game with an undisclosed issue, and clearly he was compromised. He spent the season as the one viable offensive weapon for the Bearkats, but he has a full offseason to rest up, and also perhaps to transfer to a better program coming off this campaign.

Keegan Shoemaker - Throws INTShowmaker went 31-for-48 for 198 yards and an interception against MTSU on Saturday.

ImpactShoemaker moved with the Bearkats up from the FCS, but he clearly was not up to the challenge of playing at this level. Throwing 48 passes and ending up with only 198 yards passing is just one example of his issues, and he was very turnover prone. If Shoemaker is starting at the FBS level in 2024 it will be a surprise.

Holden Willis - Tallies 40 yards receivingWillis caught five passes for 40 yards versus Sam Houston on Saturday.

ImpactNever able to find a significant role at South Florida, Willis flourished at Middle Tennessee State. He started the season slow - facing Alabama and Missouri didn't help - but over his last nine games he had 42 catches for 673 yards and five touchdowns.

ImpactTransferring in from FCS school Tennessee State, Dobson wasn't involved much this year. However, he did have 15 catches for 281 yards and two touchdowns over his final five games. Maybe this was an adjustment year, so let's see what he can do in 2024.
