Raw's new Cruiserweight division will officially launch Monday night, and seven participants in WWE's excellent Cruiserweight Classic have been officially signed by Raw (with a few more hopefully on the way). Here are the newest additions to the Raw roster.
Perkins became the first WWE Cruiserweight Champion since the title was retired back in 2007, and it’s been an incredibly long journey back to WWE for the 18-year veteran.
Gran Metalik made the finals of the CWC by beating Zack Sabre Jr., and he also eliminated Tajiri and Akira Tozawa from the competition.
The CWC crowd at Full Sail chanted Dar’s name to the tune of the Imperial March from Star Wars. It remains to be seen if the Raw crowd will pick that up, but one can hope.
Swann seems destined to be a huge star in WWE, and he’s got an incredible backstory. Swann lost both of his parents within a few weeks of each other as a teenager. Swann signed with NXT in 2015 and made a few television appearances, but his eventual Raw matches will be must-watch TV.
Kendrick is a WWE veteran who had multiple stints with the company and is a former tag team champion.
Dorado, from Puerto Rico, is an amazing high-flyer that was eliminated in the CWC’s Round of 16 by Swann.
Another phenomenal athlete, Alexander’s Lumbar Check finisher is one of the coolest in WWE. Fans were so impressed with Alexander they chanted "Please Sign Cedric" after he was eliminated from the CWC, and Triple H obliged.
Rumored additions: Akira Tozawa
Tozawa has not yet been confirmed by WWE, but he did appear in promos for the Cruiserweight division that aired on Raw, so it seems to be only a matter of time before he comes to the WWE full-time.
Gallagher became an instant fan-favorite in the CWC, and he was sitting ringside at the final along with WWE stars Sasha Banks and Bayley.
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa
The NXT tag team of Gargano and Ciampa were also featured in Cruiserweight promos, and WWE fans should already be familiar with the duo. They delivered one of the best matches of the CWC against each other, which ended with a defeated Ciampa embracing his partner in the ring.
