Goldberg will head to WrestleMania next month as the WWE Universal Champion after stunning Kevin Owens in seconds Sunday night at WWE Fastlane.
Here are the full results from the final pay-per-view before WrestleMania 33.
Rich Swann and Akira Tozawa defeated Noam Dar and The Brian Kendrick
Rich Swann caught Noam Dar and The Brian Kendrick with Superkicks in succession, and after Tozawa disposed of Kendrick with a snap German suplex, Swann hit a Phoenix Splash on Dar to seal the win.
Samoa Joe defeated Sami Zayn by submission
“The Destroyer” simply overpowered Zayn throughout the match, and while Zayn avoided the Muscle Buster, Joe was able to counter Zayn’s Heluva Kick and locked in the Coquina Clutch to put Zayn to sleep.
Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson defeated Enzo and Cass to retain the Raw Tag Team Championship
Gallows and Anderson kept their titles, but their match with Enzo and Cass ended controversially as the referee missed a rope break as he was counting the pinfall. Anderson pinned Enzo Amore near the rope, but Amore’s left leg was draped over the bottom rope. The official didn’t see initially, and Gallows quickly pushed Amore’s leg away before he noticed.
Sasha Banks defeated Nia Jax
Sasha Banks stunned Nia Jax with a roll-up after being thoroughly crushed by her opponent for the majority of the match. Nia Jax shrugged off Banks’ offense and wore her overmatched opponent down with submissions, but Banks was somehow able to escape a likely Samoan Drop and roll up Nia Jax, then extend into a bridge to earn a shocking win.
Cesaro defeated Jinder Mahal
Jinder Mahal informed Mick Foley on the kickoff show that he would no longer work alongside Rusev in tag team matches, and when Rusev confronted him, Foley decided that they could face surprise competitors later on the show.
Rusev and Mahal entered the ring and brawled with each other before an opponent showed, and Mahal took out Rusev with a brutal knee to the face. Cesaro then entered to face Mahal in a one-on-one match, which ended with a giant pop-up uppercut from Cesaro after Rusev recovered and distracted Mahal from outside the ring.
The Big Show defeated Rusev
Rusev then entered the ring and attacked an exhausted Mahal before The Big Show arrived to face Rusev in a match. Rusev stood little chance to match The Big Show blow-for-blow, but midway through the match he dove into The Big Show’s knee as he was running to cut him down to the mat.
The Big Show somehow managed to kick out of three vicious kicks to the side of the head, and hit *three* chokeslams on Rusev before delivering a knockout punch to the chin.
Neville defeated Jack Gallagher to retain the Cruiserweight Championship
It took a while for the Milwaukee crowd to warm to the Cruiserweight title match, but Neville and Gallagher delivered an epic fight, and after a series of devastating headbutts from Gallagher it seemed like Neville could potentially lose his title. Gallagher scaled the turnbuckle to try to hit a superplex on Neville, but Neville countered and dropped Gallagher on the back of his neck, allowing him to hit the Red Arrow to retain the belt.
The New Day introduced their New Day ice cream cart
Remember this day. You can tell your children where you were when New Day Pops came to life.
Roman Reigns defeated Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman showed once again that he might be the most exciting star on the Raw roster with an excellent performance against Roman Reigns, but a risky move from the top of the turnbuckle led to his demise at Fastlane.
After hitting a running powerslam to put Reigns through a table, Strowman had the chance to put away Roman with a crazy splash from the top rope. Reigns was able to move out of the way, though, and finally landed a spear on Strowman to win the match.
Bayley defeats Charlotte to retain the Raw Women’s Championship
Bayley hit a huge Hurricanrana off the top rope followed by a Macho Man flying elbow, but Charlotte somehow managed to kick out at two to preserve her pay-per-view undefeated streak.
Charlotte recovered, though, and just as she was going to attempt a moonsault from the top rope to the outside of the ring, Sasha Banks ran in to distract Charlotte and save her friend. Charlotte still had a chance to win with a roll-up, but Banks alerted the referee that Charlotte was illegally pulling on Bayley’s tights during the pin, forcing him to break the count. Bayley then hit a Bayley-to-Belly finisher and - shockingly - broke Charlotte’s streak.
Goldberg defeats Kevin Owens to become the new Universal Champion
Kevin Owens announced that his strategy in facing Goldberg was to take the 50-year-old as deep into the match as possible, banking on the fact that he would burn out and become easier to defeat. Owens opened the match by hopping out of the ring three times and slowly pacing around before the referee rang the bell - but just as Owens signaled that he was ready, his spurned best friend Chris Jericho made a surprise entrance, allowing Goldberg to hit a quick spear and jackhammer to win the Universal Championship.
