The WWE roster has undergone a massive transformation over the last year, and the collection of championship belts has also been widely expanded. In the past 12 months we've seen the creation of a new world heavyweight title, the relaunch of the women's championship, the return of the cruiserweight division, two new belts for the SmackDown roster and, most recently, the unveiling of the United Kingdom Championship.
So which title looks the best? We broke down the pros and cons of each design to determine an overall winner.
United States Championship
Pros: It's patriotic?
Cons: The design is too busy and too colorful. For comparison's sake, check out the awesome WCW version (which featured a giant gold eagle and less over-the-top use of the flag).
Raw Tag Team Championship
Pros: The dual gladiators logo is neat, I guess.
Cons: It looks like a penny, which makes it feel worth less than the other titles.
NXT Women’s Championship
Pros: It has a slightly smaller profile, so it doesn't look comically large on some smaller champs (see: current SmackDown Women's champ Alexa Bliss).
Cons: It looks like WWE bought it from Claire's.
NXT Tag Team Championship
Pros: It's really not as bad as fans made it seem at SummerSlam. It's fine.
Cons: Had an awful launch.
Pros: Has an unusual shape and the silver and purple mesh well.
Cons: Depending on the light, the belt can look plastic-y.
WWE World Championship
Pros: This basic design has been refined over the past few years, but it was a huge improvement from the gaudy John Cena spinner title.
Cons: Doesn't quite pop as much as the more colorful titles that have been introduced more recently.
United Kingdom Championship
(Note: WWE revealed this title Thursday. The inaugural champion will be crowned in January.)
Pros: Looks very fancy.
Cons: The details are all rather small, so could be difficult to notice them on TV.
Pros: Has the most distinctive design of any belt on the list.
Cons: It's easy to cover with fingerprint smudges.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship
Pros: Was the only primarily silver belt until the cruiserweight title arrived.
Cons: The blue belt could potentially clash with some stars' gear? I don't know. This is near-perfect.
Raw Women’s Championship
Pros: Immeasurably better than the butterfly Divas belt it replaced.
Cons: You'd really have to be nitpicky to criticize this belt. The red stripe in the WWE logo is a different shade than the background red, I guess?
SmackDown Women’s Championship
(This one comes down to personal preference or brand loyalty, really. I think the blue background is a bit more visually appealing, but you could probably consider this one tied with the Raw Women's title.)
Pros: The old grappler sideplates are a great throwback, it resides on The Miz's shoulder.
