A huge strawweight matchup has been added to UFC 212 as Claudia Gadelha is set to meet Karolina Kowalkiewicz on June 3 in Brazil.

UFC officials announced the new matchup on Monday.

Gadelha returns to action while seeking another shot at the strawweight title after coming up short against champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk last July. Gadelha has put together a 3-2 mark thus far in her UFC career with the only blemishes on her record coming to Jedrzejczyk in a pair of closely contested bouts.

If she wants a third shot at the champion, Gadelha has a great chance to make a statement against the No. 2 ranked strawweight fighter in the world.

Kowalkiewicz enters the bout with Gadelha fresh off her own unanimous decision loss to Jedrzejczyk this past November at UFC 205.

It was the first time the Polish fighter had tasted defeat in her professional career after reeling off 10 straight wins including victories in the UFC over Rose Namajunas, Randa Markos and Heather Jo Clark.

Kowalkiewicz will travel into enemy territory for her next fight as she faces Gadelha on her home soil in Brazil.

Gadelha vs. Kowalkiewicz joins a growing line up of fights headed to UFC 212 with the main event serving as a featherweight title unification bout as Jose Aldo meets Max Holloway with the winner walking out as the undisputed champion at 145-pounds.
