Rafael Nadal shows off sleeveless shirt he would’ve worn at U.S. Open

Missing Rafael Nadal at the U.S. Open? You’re in luck.

The 2013 champion — unable to defend his title due to an injured right wrist — posted a collage of pictures to Facebook on Wednesday, showing what he says are the sleeveless get-ups he planned to wear at this year’s tourney in Flushing Meadows.

Sadly, this is the only look we’ll get at it:

Nadal wore sleeveless shirts earlier in his career, paired with his most famous fashion statement: capri pants. Based on the photos, those aren’t yet making a comeback.

The second-ranked Nadal injured himself while training in July and there’s still no indication of when he will return. The 28-year-old owns 14 career Grand Slam titles, tied with Pete Sampras for second-most of all-time behind Roger Federer’s 17.

Nadal has been keeping busy in the interim, rehabbing the injury and also participating in the Ice Bucket Challenge:
