Diego Costa has stated that his future lies more with Chelsea than Atletico Madrid, but he is staying focused on Spain for now and has refused to confirm that a deal has been done.
Chelsea had expected to sign the striker before the World Cup but there has been no announcement yet and matters were put on hold as he linked up with his country on international duty in Brazil.
Spain have been knocked out of the tournament after losing their opening two group games and speculation is mounting about an imminent move to Stamford Bridge.
However, Costa is now preparing for La Roja’s last game at the tournament against Australia and his club future is still not at the forefront of his mind.
"At the moment I am not paying attention to it because I am thinking about the World Cup, but it is clear that my future lies more with Chelsea than with Atletico Madrid," he is quoted as saying by Sport.
"Atletico has been my home, my life and I have great feelings towards the club, but things happen in life and one has to accept them.
"I do not know what the situation is because I have not been involved in all that.
