Tim Duncan names baby girl after Marvel character
Tim Duncan confirmed on the latest episode of Road Trippin’ with RJ and Channing that he and longtime girlfriend Vanessa Macias welcomed the couple’s first child, a baby girl named Quill, last week.
The future Hall of Famer added that he and Macias named the newborn after Marvel character Peter Quill, who also goes by the name Star-Lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Duncan, who is a big fan of comic books, said the name also is a nod to Macias, who is an avid writer.
"My girlfriend, she also writes a lot too, so it's like a pen quill," Duncan added. "It's a combination of all the things."
Marvel comics gave a nod to Duncan’s love of comics, putting him on the cover of an issue of “The Punisher” in 2014.
