Randy Foye said he learned of his Thunder trade from an NBA app notification

Good thing he checked his phone.

The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired Randy Foye from Denver yesterday afternoon on NBA trade deadline Thursday.

Unfortunately, no one apparently bothered to inform Foye of the trade. The former Nuggets guard told ESPN’s Royce Young that he found out he was going to OKC the way many of us might have in this digital age: through a notification on his NBA app.

A bit awkward, to say the least. Though props to the NBA app for staying so up-to-date.

Well, apparently that’s all yesterday’s news, as Foye has arrived as an Oklahoma City player, even going through his due diligence of offering up his John Hancock for some fans at Chesapeake Energy Arena prior to Friday’s Thunder-Pacers game.

And while Foye’s numbers have been sagging as of late, Magic Johnson, for one, approves of the move:

All’s well that ends well.
