Gamers who dive into NBA 2K17 this year will recognize a familiar face in one of the video game's most popular modes, as the 2K series has tapped actor Michael B. Jordan to star in its latest edition of MyCareer.

The MyCareer mode allows gamers to create a character and embark upon a journey to and through the NBA, all the while navigating some of the challenges and obstacles that often come with a career in pro sports.

According to IGN, Jordan will star as Justice Young, an upcoming NBA star and friend of your created character. He'll be a central point of the game's story choices and decisions made by your character.

"I’m humbled at the opportunity to help influence a franchise that I’ve been a passionate fan of since its first release," Jordan said in a news release. The actor has recently starred in films such as Creed and Fantastic Four, but fans may also recognize him as Vince Howard from Friday Night Lights or Wallace from The Wire.

Gamers will not only get to play alongside Jordan's character, but they'll also get to use him as a playable character.

"When the two of you are locked in, you have the opportunity to utilize dual player controls for the first time ever in MyCareer," said the game's senior producer Ben Bishop, via Polygon. "Not only can you tell Justice to do things like cut to the basket, take a shot, or isolate, you can also switch over and control him entirely."

A first look at Jordan's role in the game was provided via screenshots on Friday.

In one of those screenshots,  you can also find comedian Hannibal Burress, who plays a character that runs a local barbershop.

This is the second consecutive year that 2K's MyCareer mode has had some serious star power attached to it. NBA 2K16's MyCareer story mode was penned and directed by Spike Lee.
