John Wall has a message for those who believe he's jealous of other players' contracts
Late August is the worst possible time for a player to find his name appearing in the rumors section of the NBA news cycle, because there's so little going on. John Wall found this out the hard way this week.
First, Wall was quoted telling teammate Bradley Beal, who received a $127 million contract from the Washington Wizards, to "go out there and improve your game."

Then came a report that Wall was jealous of Beal's money, and the $118 million contract James Harden got from the Houston Rockets.
Wall — whose contract is worth $84 million — went on Twitter Thursday night hitting up sites that excerpted the anonymously sourced report, before quickly deleting those tweets and then heading to Bleacher Report's Uninterrupted to post a video refuting what had been written.
"James Harden's contract extension, happy for him, don't care," Wall said. "That's my guy. I'm not mad at him. ... Please stop saying I'm watching money. I'm not."
The positive is that in this day and age, athletes can go unfiltered to respond to anything that's reported about them, especially from anonymous sources. The negative is that a report like this even got published, and that Wall has to respond in the first place.
