There have been rumblings that Dwight Howard and James Harden haven’t always seen eye to eye while teammates on the Rockets. But who knew the two tried to have the other one traded in 2014?
NBA.com’s Fran Blinebury reported that days after Damian Lillard’s buzzer-beating, series-clinching 3-pointer in Game 6 of the 2014 playoffs knocked out the Rockets, the Houston star duo tried to get the other shipped out.
“Howard and Harden have been an oil-and-water mix since they came together for the 2012-13 season. It was only days after Damian Lillard’s 3-point dagger eliminated them in the first round of their first playoff series together when both were sending out messages and maneuvering to get the other one traded.”
Now maybe emotions were running high after such a bitter loss, but for each to try to get the other one dealt? That won’t do wonders for chemistry, especially between the team’s two best players.
It appears the team’s chemistry has been a topic of discussion this season.
