It's a work in progress, but 2K's "Dynamic Duo" system in MyTEAM is one element you'll probably be seeing in future editions of the game.
MyTEAM's new, friendship-rewarding mechanic is pretty straightforward: if you play these two player cards at the same time, on the same team, they will receive boosts to certain attributes that take them to the next level.
The duos are a fun way of highlighting real-life player friendships and changing in-game strategies, and some make more sense than others (see: Nikola Jokic and Fat Lever).
In any case, I've gone ahead and ranked the top 20 Dynamic Duo pairings currently in NBA 2K17—a process that involving weighing the total attributes boosted against the quality of the duo and the likelihood of you ever actually using them.
I also included "clinchers" for each pairing—a.k.a. the most important attribute improved for each player. Because that seemed important.
Hope it's helpful!
Karl Malone and John Stockton
Karl Malone’s amethyst card is a plodding, post enforcer that gets SLIGHTLY less plod-y and more dynamic when paired with his partner in crime, amethyst John Stockton.
Total Attributes Boost: +183 (+117 Malone, +66 Stockton).
The Clinchers: +25 Open Three / +11 Lateral Quickness (Malone), +11 Contested Mid-Range (Stockton).
Rick Barry and Stephen Curry
I’d just like to say Rick Barry will forever be the most underappreciated player in 2K, and ruby Droppin’ 50 Rick Barry gets real feisty when paired up with Ruby Moments Curry.
Total Attribute Boost: +188 (+100 Barry, +88 Curry)
The Clinchers: +9 Open Three (Barry), +25 Driving Dunk (Curry).
Tony Parker and Tim Duncan
A dynamic duo that turns Tony Parker into Derrick Rose and Tim Duncan’s crappy diamond into a solid, if not still molasses-y, big man.
Total Attribute Boost: +191 (+63 Parker, +128 Duncan)
The Clinchers: +30 Driving Dunk (Parker), +15 Driving Dunk (Duncan).

Nikola Jokic and Fat Lever
Amethyst Nikola Jokic and ruby Fat Lever: obviously a match made in heaven.
Total Attribute Boost: +165 (+63 Jokic, +102 Lever).
The Clinchers: +Standing Dunk (Jokic), +16 Contested Three / +15 Moving Three (Lever).
Lou Hudson and Mychal Thompson
Diamond Lou Hudson gets nice, across-the-board boosts when paired with gold Mychal Thompson, who is the real benefactor in this dynamic duo thanks to a monstrous 258-point supercharging that takes it into “Workable sapphire” territory.
You’ll probably never use this duo due to its lopsided-ness, but it’s a hefty enough bump to mention.
Total Attribute Boost: +328 (+70 Hudson, +258 Thompson).
The Clinchers: +4 Moving Three (Hudson), +26 Open Shot Mid / +22 Post Fadeaway (Thompson).
Peja Stojakovic and Mike Bibby
Former Kings teammates get well-deserved bonuses when their ruby cards are paired up on the court. Stojakovic’s most important boosts are small, one-point improvements to his open and contested threes, improving them to an ultra-wet 98.
Total Attribute Boost: +175 (+72 Stojakovic, +103 Bibby)
The Clinchers: +1 Contested Three / +7 Defensive Consistency (Stojakovic), +15 Contested Three (Bibby)
Ralph Sampson and Hakeem Olajuwon
Thanks to a recent update, the Twin Towers of Houston now get TIDY boosts in the post and mid-range when their ruby cards share the floor, and as someone who still fields ruby Sampson on some teams, I am ecstatic to try this dynamic duo out.
Total Attributes Boost: +278 (+105 Sampson, +178 Olajuwon).
The Clinchers: +10 Block (Sampson), +20 Contested Mid-Range (Olajuwon).
Karl Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins
Karl-Anthony Towns gets nastier and Wiggins gets healthy boosts for a diamond card that’s already slept upon.
Total Attribute Boost: +125 (+64 Towns, +61 Wiggins)
The Clinchers: +5 Lateral Quickness / +7 Shot Contest (Towns) , +5 Contested Three (Wiggins).

Larry Bird and Robert Parish
Amethyst Larry Bird goes from extremely well-rounded but un-athletic to a court-wide nightmare when paired with amethyst Robert Parish, who is also unathletic and stays that way even after a 181-point dynamic duo boost.
Total Attribute Boost: +341 (+160 Bird, +181 Parish).
The Clinchers: +35 Standing Dunk / +30 Driving Dunk (Bird), +52 Open Three (Parish).
Ben Wallace and Chauncey Billups
A pretty great duo from a realistic, you-might-actually-play-these-guys-together perspective. Diamond Ben Wallace and Amethyst Chauncey Billups are great cards on their own and if you plan to play either (Wallace especially), you might as well have both on the court at the same time.
Billups is a great, do-it-all point with solid size, and Wallace is a monstrosity near the cup who can actually hit free throws with his dynamic duo boost.
Total Attribute Boost: +133 (+74 Wallace, +59 Billups)
The Clinchers: +30 Free Throw (Wallace), +4 Speed With Ball (Billups).
Adrian Dantley and Jeff Hornacek
Those who completed the Jazz historic set early on in 2K17 got Adrian Dantley, who remains one of the most consistent and nimble small forwards in the game to date.
The only knock on him was his subpar three-point shot, which gets remedied when he’s paired with sapphire Jeff Hornacek, who’s already a budget beast and gets 97 Open Three with the help of the dynamic duo.
Total Attribute Boost: +175 (+85 Dantley, +90 Hornacek)
The Clinchers: +6 Open Three (Dantley), +5 Open Three (Hornacek).
C.J. McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic
Amethyst C.J. McCollum is a swashbuckling murder machine from deep, and if you field him with his new best friend and consigliere Jusuf Nurkic (ruby Moments edition), he picks up the ability to dunk while running—despite his trash Driving Dunk tendency (a lean 5).
Total Attributes Boost: +161 (+79 McCollum, +82 Nurkic)
The Clinchers: +30 Driving Dunk (McCollum), +25 Pick and Roll Defense IQ (Nurkic).
Kevin Garnett and Sam Cassell
One of the most sensible, explainable dynamic duos out there, Kevin Garnett’s diamond Beasts collection card (which is spectacular), gets additional god-level boosting when paired with his man diamond Sam Cassell from the historic rewards collection.
Total Attribute Boost: 112 (+62 Garnett, +50 Cassell)
The Clinchers: +18 Moving Three (Garnett), +5 Speed With Ball (Garnett), +4 Moving Three (Cassell).
Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter
If you can afford this dynamic duo, you probably don’t care too much about dynamic duo boosting.
But Tracy McGrady and diamond rewards Vince Carter team up to add more jet fuel on what is already, by all regards, a tag team of utter destruction on floor.
Total Attribute Boost: 81 (+39 T-Mac, +42 Carter).
The Clinchers: +3 Moving Three (T-Mac) +4 Contested and Moving Three (Carter)

Brandon Ingram and D’Angelo Russell
Season Elite Brandon Ingram is one of my favorite, quasi under-the-radar cards in MyTEAM and an absolute goliath on the Blacktop court, and pairing him with ruby DAR makes Ingram an even more irresistible stretch-everything.
Total Attributes Boost: +246 (+122 Ingram, +124 Russell)
The Clinchers: +9 Speed With Ball (Ingram), +30 Hustle (Russell).

Scottie Pippen and James Harden
I have no idea why this dynamic duo exists but it makes Ruby Moments James Harden an absolute dirt cheap force of nature with 90 ratings in all three-point shot varieties and serviceable defense.
Total Attribute Boost: +216 (+45 Pippen, +171 Harden).
The Clinchers: +8 Open Mid-Range (Pippen), +14 Defensive Rebound / +11 Moving Three / +15 Lateral Quickness (Harden).
Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce
The Antoine Walker reward card is still one of the best in biz, and emerald Paul Pierce from the Rookie Rewind collection is a budget baller masterpiece in its own regard. Pair them together and you’ve got a high diamond-caliber, do-it-all power forward and a more than service three-and-D small forward.
Total Attribute Boost: +210 (+99 Walker, +111 Pierce).
The Clinchers: +7 Contested Three (Pierce), +8 Open Three (Pierce).
LeBron James and Dwyane Wade
A dynamic duo I would’ve like to see expanded into ‘Bron and Wade’s better cards, but it’s hard to argue with this boost that all but makes a ruby LeBron plays like his much-vaunted amethyst card.
Total Attribute Boost: +172 (+100 James, +72 Wade).
The Clinchers: +5 Open Three / +10 Driving Dunk (James), +13 Pass Perception (Wade).
Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming
A strong, if not lopsided duo that adds some streamers to diamond Yao Ming but turns diamond Rockets Tracy McGrady (the lesser of the McGradys) into a monster nearly on the level with Deep Shooters 2 T-Mac.
Total Attribute Boost: 213 (+159 McGrady, +54 Ming)
The Clinchers: +12 Contested Three (McGrady), +3 Offensive Rebound (Ming).
Chris Bosh and LeBron James
Sapphire LeBron isn’t sexy but he does give diamond Chris Bosh a profane 99 Post Fadeaway boost.
Total Attribute Boost: +208 (+101 Bosh, +107 James)
The Clinchers: +3 Post Fadeaway (Bosh), +16 Open Three (James).
