Hour 188 of Daytona countdown: The closest 500 ever

We don't have to go too far back to celebrate Hour 188 as FOX Sports continues its 500-hour countdown to the 59th Daytona 500 live on Fox Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. ET.

That's because we're commemorating the closest Daytona 500 finish ever -- and it occurred just last year when Denny Hamlin and his No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota edged the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota of Martin Truex Jr. at the finish line by a mere 0.010 seconds.

The last-lap battle and thrilling finish may still be fresh in our minds, but that doesn't mean it wasn't one of the greatest finishes in the long and storied history of the Great American Race.
