The NASCAR All-Star Race headlines an action-packed day at Charlotte Motor Speedway as an ode to the 25th anniversary of “One Hot Night” when Davey Allison and Kyle Petty crashed across the finish line.
The day starts off with Monster Energy Open qualifying and culminates with the tribute to One Hot Night.

Monster Energy Open
The 24 drivers who didn’t qualify for the NASCAR All-Star Race, including Clint Bowyer and Ryan Blaney, will battle for three spots in the Monster Energy Open by winning the stages in the Open. One additional driver will advance to the All-Star Race by receiving the most fan votes.
The green flag for the Open waves at 6:20 p.m. ET on FS1.

The All-Star Race celebrates the 25th anniversary of “One Hot Night”, the first speedway race run under the lights. A field of 16 drivers has already been locked in by winning a race this year or last, being a past champion or All-Star Race winner. Four more drivers will be added through the Open and Fan Vote.

The All-Star Race is slated to start at 8:25 p.m. ET on FS1.
Charlotte Motor Speedway is a 1.5-mile quad oval with 24-degree banking in the turns and five-degree on the straightaway. The grandstand seating is 89,000.

An additional wrench thrown into the mix is the new Option tire offered by Goodyear which features more grip and speed but fades quicker than the normal Prime tire that drivers use. The alternate tire features green Goodyear lettering on the side wall to differentiate it.
It’ll be a busy day of festivities around the All-Star Race with Justin Moore performing a pre-race concert and Machine Gun Kelly performing post-race. The Grand Marshal is Triple Crown winning jockey, Victor Espinoza. Professional bull rider, J.B. Mauney will wave the green flag. The honorary pace car driver will be 12-time Motocross/Supercross champion, Ricky Carmichael.
