The baseball world reacts to Tim Tebow's MLB showcase

Tim Tebow did his best to convince scouts from nearly every major-league team that he deserves a shot at a baseball career during a showcase on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Tebow, 29, is hoping to revive a baseball dream that he essentially gave up on after his junior year of high school, when he chose to pursue a future in football. That decision led to a Heisman Trophy in 2007 with the Florida Gators and a brief NFL career with the Denver Broncos and New York Jets.

With the gridiron most likely in his past, Tebow recently decided to turn back to the diamond.

Tuesday’s workout consisted of a 60-yard dash, outfield throwing drills, outfield fielding drills, batting practice and live batting practice against recent major-league relievers David Aardsma and Chad Smith.
