The Phillie Phanatic livened up jury duty on a sleepy Monday morning

So it's Monday morning in Philadelphia and you're sitting in a cramped desk seat waiting to find out where you and the others summonsed for jury duty will be assigned. And then the Phillie Phanatic walks in!

Surely the Phanatic would be dismissed for biases against Mets fans. But his appearance actually was inspired by "juror appreciation day," which also drew Villanova Wildcats men's basketball head coach Jay Wright into action to thank jurors for performing their civic duty.

In any case, Phanatic's presence created an entertaining diversion during what's generally an undesired trip to court.
