Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig wore amazing cleats with Vin Scully’s face on them

Vin Scully is the most iconic broadcaster in baseball right now, and arguably of all time. There isn’t a soul out there who wouldn’t love to listen to him call a game, or any event for that matter. Because of that, he has garnered unmatched respect from both players and colleagues around baseball.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, who’s name has been ushered by Scully thousands of times, honored the legend on Sunday with a pair of amazing cleats featuring Scully’s face on them.

Seriously, these are amazing.

Puig went 1-for-4 while wearing the cleats, including a single in the sixth inning. Unfortunately, the shoes weren’t enough to earn the Dodgers a win, falling to the Diamondbacks 6-5.

Puig did explain why he paid tribute to Scully after the game.

"I play baseball, and I like the way that he narrates," he said via Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times. "After 67 years of work, he deserves his respect."
