The Los Angeles Angels aren’t messing around.

The Halos, who entered the second half of the season 1½ games behind the Oakland A’s in the AL West, added San Diego Padres closer Huston Street, sources told Ken Rosenthal on Friday night.

Street, who started his career with the A’s in 2005, saved 94 games for Oakland in four seasons. He was the AL Rookie of the Year in ’05, finishing with 23 saves, a 1.72 ERA and a 5-1 record in 67 games.

The right-hander was traded to Colorado after the 2008 season. He would save a career-best 35 games in ’09 and recorded 84 saves for the Rockies through 2011.

Before the 2012 season, Street was traded to San Diego, where he saved 80 games in 2½ seasons.

For his career, Street owns 258 saves with a 2.87 ERA and a 35-27 record in 548 games.
