Watch the 3 defensive gems that preserved the Angels' no-hitter in the 9th inning

The Angels delivered the second no-hitter of spring training on Friday night, as eight pitchers combined to shut down the Mariners. Yes, eight.

Bud Norris pitched the first two innings before a cavalry of relievers took over to preserve the no-no for the final seven innings. And there was some drama in the ninth inning – well, as much drama as possible in an exhibition game – with the Angels’ gloves coming up huge.

These three dazzling defensive plays – courtesy of first baseman C.J. Cron, right fielder Shane Robinson  and third baseman Sherman Johnson – kept the Mariners’ bats hitless:

Pretty impressive, even when facing a split-squad Mariners team in March.

The Angels’ no-no came a week after Masahiro Tanaka and two relievers no-hit the Tigers in a 3-0 Yankees win.
