Jamaican gymnast struggles mightily with first pitch at A's game

The bar has been set pretty high for gymnasts throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at baseball games this summer. We've already seen pretty incredible efforts incorporating gymnastic stunts from Americans Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian.

Unfortunately, Toni-Ann Williams, who became the first gymnast to ever represent Jamaica at the Olympics this summer in Rio, had some trouble with her pitch on Tuesday night.

Prior to the Oakland Athletics' game against the Los Angeles Angels, Williams and swimmer Tom Shields -- both of whom are student-athletes at Cal -- were called on to get the game started from the pitcher's mound.

Things did not exactly go well, at least for Williams.

The flip was pretty impressive, but it looks like the gymnast landed with the wrong foot forward and had to quickly adjust to get her pitch to the plate. Unfortunately, that pitch was way off target.

At least Williams appeared to have a good sense of humor about it. At the end of the day, she'll still get to say she's an Olympian, and one who is still better at baseball than 50 Cent.
