Bettis, 27, revealed in December that he had been diagnosed with testicular cancer and provided an update in January that he was cancer-free. The next step is chemotherapy, which will sideline Bettis for an unknown period.

Bettis won a career-high 14 games last season with a 4.79 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 138 strikeouts in 186 innings (32 starts). He has pitched parts of the past four seasons with Colorado after being drafted in the second round in 2010.

Best of luck to Bettis in his fight against cancer. He’s got the entire baseball community pulling for him.
