Blue Jays apologize for the ugly incident during the AL Wild Card Game
A number of people have expressed their disappointment in the ugly incident during Tuesday's AL Wild Card Game, in which an unruly fan tossed a full beer on to the field of play.
The fan, who was presumably a Blue Jays fan, threw the can towards Orioles left fielder Hyun Soo Kim as he attempted to catch a fly ball, and luckily the object narrowly missed Kim.
The Blue Jays, who were clearly embarrassed by the incident, released a statement apologizing to the Orioles and Major League Baseball Wednesday afternoon.
At the time the statement was released, Toronto police were still trying to locate the culprit to pursue legal action.
Orioles outfielder Adam Jones, who called the incident "pathetic," said that he hopes the police find the fan and press charges against him.
