As rumors swirl that Ben Revere has been placed on the trading block, a report has emerged that the Phillies are discussing a potential trade for Revere with another team.
MLB.com reported Wednesday that the Phils have been in conversation with the Angels over the past few weeks about a trade involving Revere but have yet to agree upon compensation for the outfielder.
"It is safe to say the Phillies are seeking Minor Leaguers in return," the report details.
It’s no surprise that the Angels are mentioned as a likely landing spot for Revere, as FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reported earlier this week that the club had been showing interest in the 27-year-old speedster.
Revere, who is in his third year with the Phillies after a three-year stint with the Minnesota Twins, is hitting .266/.311/.351 with 12 runs batted in and nine steals leading off for the Phils this season.
If Revere were to be acquired by the Angels, he would join Mike Trout and Kole Calhoun in the Halos’ outfield.
