Matt Kemp clobbered the Blue Jays Monday night. Kemp was 4-for-4 with two doubles in the Braves 10-6 win over Toronto. Kemp has been on a tear since returning from an injury on April 20. He owns eight multi-hit games and looks more like the superstar who played for the Dodgers. Kemp’s six homers and 18 RBI with .346/.381/.617 splits aren’t too shabby either. Since he was traded to Atlanta, Kemp has hit .313 with 18 homers and 57 RBI.

Gurriel's slam fuels Astros
It’s been a great week for Yuli Gurriel. First, he was spotted in the dugout with a hairstyle reminiscent of Guile from Street Fighter II. Monday, he crushed a grand slam in a 7-2 victory over the Marlins. Gurriel has five hits in his last three games and is hitting a healthy .407 with runners in scoring position. Houston’s first baseman is owned in 11.1 percent of FOX Fantasy baseball leagues.
Quick Hits: Part I
Diamondbacks outfielder Yasmany Tomas hit a game-winning three-run homer against the Mets … Mariners catcher Tuffy Gosewich earned the night’s golden sombrero with four strikeouts at the hands of the A’s … Hunter Renfroe smashed a walk-off two-run dinger for the Padres in the 10th inning … Matt Cain kept the Dodgers bottled up after he surrendered just one run in 6 2/3 innings.

McCarthy stomped by Giants
Dodgers starter Brandon McCarthy lost his first game of the season after he was tagged for six earned runs and eight hits in Monday’s 8-4 loss to the Giants. He’s enjoyed a solid start to the season, but he’s trending in the wrong direction – McCarthy has surrendered 10 runs and 16 hits in his last two starts. It looks like he’s on track for another season in the neighborhood of a 4.15 ERA and 1.29 WHIP.
Oakland starter Sean Manaea was a first round pick in the 2013 MLB draft, but hasn’t lived up to that billing. His 10.43 K/9 is nice, but a 1-3 record and 5.52 ERA make it difficult to stomach. Manaea only has one quality start on the season. If there’s any saving grace for Manaea, it’s that his 9.5 percent home run to fly ball rate and 4.05 xFIP mean he could improve.
Perdomo wrangles Brewers
Luis Perdomo notched his fourth consecutive quality start against the Brewers Monday. The Padres second-year starter tossed six innings of three-run ball with a season high nine K’s and no walks. Perdomo is owned in just 4.1 percent of FOX leagues, and you could certainly do worse with him as a stopgap in the midst of this season’s injuries.
Nunez still stealing
Eduardo Nunez was all over the place for the Giants in Monday’s win over the Dodgers. Nunez went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. He also swiped his 10th bag of the season tying him for fourth in the league. Nunez stole a career high 40 bases in 2016 and appears to be on track for another stellar season on the basepaths.
