Ezekiel Elliott cited for traffic incident before leaving for Fiesta Bowl

Ezekiel Elliott is expected to head to the NFL after one more game as a Buckeye.

Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott made the Buckeyes’ team flight to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl, but not before encountering a traffic issue.

Franklin County municipal court records show Elliott was cited for failure to control his vehicle, driving under suspension and driving without a license on Sunday, the same day the Buckeyes left for their bowl matchup with Notre Dame.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges — all misdemeanors — on Jan. 26.

A school spokesperson confirmed to FOX Sports the incident will not affect Elliott’s playing status against the Fighting Irish.

Craig Calcaterra of NBC Sports first reported the incident Monday morning.
