Notre Dame's defense is getting destroyed by Syracuse and the Internet

The more things change, the more they stay the same. That’s the unfortunate truth for Notre Dame.

In their first game since firing defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder, the Fighting Irish haven’t exactly solved their woes on D. Syracuse already had scored four touchdowns and compiled more than 300 yards of offense by halftime. Luckily for Notre Dame, Syracuse's defense has been even worse today.

Coming into Saturday’s game, the Irish ranked 100th nationally in points allowed per game (33.5) and 103rd in yards allowed per game (454). And they’ve been equally bad against the pass (87th in the nation) and the run (98th). 

And it’s going to get worse, just like the criticism on social media:
