Never: Just 238 miles from Coral Gables, somehow the Hurricanes have never played in the Citrus Bowl game.
Miami Head to Head Against Potential Projected Opponents:
LSU: LSU leads 9-3. Last Meeting LSU 44-3, December 31, 2004, Peach Bowl, LSU leads 1-0 in Bowl Meetings.
Mississippi: Mississippi leads 2-1, Last Meeting: Mississippi won 20-7, October 26, 1951
Tennessee: Tennessee leads 2-1, Last Meeting: Tennessee won 10-6, November 8, 2003, Tennessee leads 1-0 in Bowl Meetings, won 1986 Sugar Bowl 35-7.

Oklahoma: Miami leads 4-3: Last Meeting: Miami won 21-20 October 2, 2009: Miami Leads 1-0 in Bowl Meetings: won 1998 Orange Bowl 20-14
The Miami Hurricanes have the entire ACC season in front of them. Florida State, North Carolina, and Notre Dame have not played up to expectations. Any Bowl game would be a good season for the Hurricanes. The two biggest games of their season, FSU and UNC are at home.
The strength of the 3-0 start has to have Miami aiming higher. Their focus should be on winning the Coastal. If they can do that, they would likely face a top five Louisville or Clemson in the ACC title game.
Their Sagarin/power/computer/RPI ranking will rise significantly with a strong October. The ‘Canes caught a huge break in the schedule by avoiding the Cardinals and Tigers in the regular season this year. At worst, the ‘Canes should go 3-2 in October. If they do that and win out in November they would finish 10-2 and have an excellent chance to go to the ACC championship game and a Big Six Bowl game.
