The anchor of Alabama’s offensive line was awarded for his individual efforts Wednesday, but his excellence this season spanned more than the playing field.

Tide center Ryan Kelly was named co-winner of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy – given to the SEC’s best blocker – for his on the field success and was also named the conference’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year for his outstanding grade point average off the field.

Kelly has started 33 games for the Tide, failed to allow a sack this season and currently holds a 3.75 GPA.
