Kyle Tyler - Headed to majorsThe Marlins selected Tyler's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.
ImpactTyler will return to the majors for the first time since 2022, when he appeared in two games for the Padres. He struggled in his last outing with Jacksonville on April 14, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks over 3.1 innings while striking out four. Tyler will provide bullpen depth for the Marlins after the team transferred left-hander Josh Simpson (elbow) to the 60-day IL on Saturday.

Vidal Bruján - Starting in first of doubleheaderBrujan is starting at shortstop and batting eighth in the Marlins' first game of their doubleheader against the Cubs on Saturday.
ImpactThe switch-hitting Brujan will face off against Cubs right-hander Javier Assad in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. Tim Anderson figures to start at shortstop in the second game against Chicago left-hander Shota Imanaga. Brujan has gone just 2-for-20 with one double, one RBI and one run to start the season.

Max Meyer - Facing restricted workloadMeyer will pitch once a week for Triple-A Jacksonville and will be limited to three-inning outings as the Marlins target a potential return to the big-league rotation in the second...
ImpactThe 25-year-old right-hander appears more than ready to handle big-league hitters after posting a 2.12 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB through three starts and 17 innings for the Marlins to begin the season, but Meyer didn't pitch at all in 2023 while recovering from Tommy John surgery and tossed only 67 innings in 2022 across all levels. As a result, his 2024 workload was always going to be carefully monitored by the organization. Manager Skip Schumaker indicated this week that the club has no set date in mind yet for Meyer's return from Triple-A, but it could depend on the health and the performance of the team's other rotation options as much as Meyer's own numbers for Jacksonville.

Braxton Garrett - Playing catch from 90 feetGarrett (shoulder) played catch from 90 feet Friday, Isaac Azout of SBNation.com reports.
ImpactIf he has no issues with his arm following the throwing session, Garrett will likely get a bullpen session in before Miami considers a date for his 2024 debut. The 26-year-old left-hander, who missed most of spring training with a sore shoulder, is now dealing with a dead arm phase after tossing 86 pitches for Triple-A Jacksonville last Friday in what appeared to be his final rehab start. There's still a chance he could join the Marlins' rotation before the end of the month.
