U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team Begins Quest For Spot in 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

Los Angeles – While soccer fans look forward to Sunday’s U.S. Women’s National team friendly against Trinidad & Tobago in Honolulu, the penultimate match in the great career of retiring superstar Abby Wambach, the U.S U-20 Women’s National Team embarks on its quest for a spot at the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. FS2 and FOX Soccer Plus air nine CONACAF Women’s U-20 Championship matches in Honduras, including the three U.S. group stage matches, beginning with a rivalry clash against Mexico on Friday, Dec. 4 (8:30 PM ET) on FS2. In addition, FS2 airs both semifinals on Friday, Dec. 11 as well as the third-place and championship matches on Sunday, Dec. 13. The tournament’s top three teams automatically qualify to represent CONCACAF in the U-20 Women’s World Cup next winter.

Jenn Hildreth and Kyndra de St. Aubin call the critical third-place match and final as well as USA’s first two matches. Keith Costigan teams up with Angela Hucles in the booth for the USWNT final group stage clash against Haiti on Tuesday, Dec. 8 on FOX Soccer Plus, while Danielle Slaton contributes commentary in the two semifinals alongside Costigan. From youth to the full national team, the world champion USWNT, led by FIFA World Player of the Year nominee Carli Lloyd, play a friendly vs. Trinidad & Tobago at Aloha Stadium at 8:00 PM ET on FS1, as part of “FOX Sports salutes the Military” weekend. JP Dellacamera, Cat Whitehill, Tony DiCicco and sideline reporter Jenny Taft call the first-ever international match played by the Americans in Hawaii.
