Divisional Game is Best Performing Authenticated Event in FOX Sports GO History



NEW YORK, NY – In what went down as one of the most exciting games in National Football League divisional playoff history, Sunday’s Minnesota Vikings improbable defeat over the New Orleans Saints delivered a 19.3/35 household rating/share with 35.645 million viewers on the FOX broadcast network, according to Nielsen Media Research. Combined with FOX Deportes & FOX Sports GO, Sunday’s broadcast delivered 36.084 million total viewers.

Sunday afternoon’s divisional showdown on FOX projects to be the most-watched show of any kind this broadcast season as well as the highest-rated and most-watched event of the NFL weekend. Sunday projects to be the 2nd consecutive week in which FOX delivered the biggest audience for an NFL postseason game.

Yesterday’s game grew steadily throughout, peaking with an astonishing 46,064,790 million viewers from 8:00-8:15 PM ET on FOX as Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs caught the game-winning touchdown with time expiring, extending the Vikings season, and putting the team one win away from a Super Bowl birth in their home stadium. FOX Deportes’ NFC divisional game averaged 63,000 total viewers, and peaked from 8:00-8:15 PM ET with 116,000 total viewers.

On digital, Sunday’s Vikings-Saints divisional back-and-forth battle delivered a record-breaking average minute audience of 375,840 across FOX Sports GO, FOX Now and off-platform mobile carriers, which is up +4% over last year’s divisional matchup between the Packers and Cowboys (vs. 363,058 average minute audience). Sunday’s NFL game is the best-performing event of any sport in FOX Sports GO history, outside of Super Bowl LI.

FOX and FOX Deportes televise the NFC Championship Game between the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia this Sunday, January 21 with the FOX NFL SUNDAY pregame show airing live on-site beginning at 6:00 PM ET on FOX.
