UFC Champion Dominick Cruz Calls FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT: CYBORG VS. LANSBERG Alongside Jon Anik

Updated Dec. 27, 2016 3:07 p.m. ET

LOS ANGELES – UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz (@DominickCruz) has a date and location set for his next fight - Saturday, Sept. 24 in Brasilia, Brazil. But instead of defending his title, his next challenge is working as an Octagon-side color analyst with blow-by-blow announcer Jon Anik (@Jon_Anik) for UFC FIGHT NIGHT: CYBORG VS. LANSBERG live on FS1. The duo calls the two-hour FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT PRELIMS starting at 8:00 PM ET and continues on the three-hour main card at 10:00 PM ET.

Host Karyn Bryant (@KarynBryant) and retired UFC fighters Kenny Florian (@KennyFlorian) and Yves Edwards (@thugjitsumaster) kick off the evening’s coverage from FOX Sports’ Los Angeles studios with the FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT PREFIGHT SHOW (7:00 PM ET) and wrap up the evening with the FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT POSTFIGHT SHOW immediately following the main event. Reporter John Gooden (@JohnGoodenUK) joins the team to interview fighters on site. Victor Davila (@mastervic10) and Erik Perez (@Goyito_Perez) make the call in Spanish on FOX Deportes.

Unbeaten for more than 11 years, Brazilian superstar Cris Cyborg (16-1, 1NC) makes her second UFC appearance on Saturday when she faces Octagon newcomer Lina Lansberg (6-1). The current Invicta FC featherweight champion, Cyborg made her UFC debut at UFC 198 in May with a spectacular 81-second TKO finish of Leslie Smith. Cyborg seeks another big win when she faces Sweden’s Lansberg, who enters the bout with a six-fight winning streak.

The main card also features an intriguing featherweight bout when former bantamweight king Renan Barao (35-4, 1NC) looks for a big win at home in Brazil against Brooklyn veteran Phillipe Nover (12-6-1). Rounding out the main card is a clash between heavyweight veterans as No. 11 Roy Nelson (22-13) faces No. 15 Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva (19-9, 1NC). Lightweights Francisco Trinaldo (20-4) and Paul Felder (12-2) battle, while No. 15-ranked middleweight Thiago Santos (13-4) squares off against Eric Spicely (8-2). Godofredo Pepey (13-4) meets Mike De La Torre (14-5, 1NC) in a featherweight bout to open the main card.

The FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT PRELIMS feature four exciting bouts, including Gilbert Burns (11-1) taking on Michel Prazeres (20-2) in a lightweight scrap. Bantamweights Rani Yahya (22-8, 1NC) and Michinori Tanaka (11-1) fight, while No. 3-ranked flyweight Jussier Formiga takes on No. 12 Dustin Ortiz (15-5). Welterweights Erick Silva (18-7, 1NC) and Luan Chagas (14-1-1) open the PRELIMS.

The FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT WEIGH-IN SHOW airs live Friday, Sept. 23 (6:00 PM ET) with Bryant, Florian and Edwards providing insights about the fighters as they tip the scales. UFC TONIGHT’s Florian and guest host Tyron Woodley preview the weekend’s fights and interview Cyborg and Nelson about their upcoming bouts on Wednesday, Sept. 21 (8:00 PM ET). Watch Woodley and FOX Sports UFC analyst Dan Hardy provide an overview of the main event here.
