Giants Comeback Over Cubs Peaks with Over 5 Million Viewers Combined on FS1 & FOX Deportes
New York – Coverage of last night’s National League Division Series Game 3, a 13-inning thriller that saw the San Francisco Giants come back to defeat the Chicago Cubs 6-5, attracted an average audience of 4,097,000 viewers, according to fast national figures released today by Nielsen Media Research.
Monday night’s 4,097,000 viewers is a +73% increase from Game 3 of last year’s American League Division Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers on FS1 (2,374,000 viewers) and is up +42% from 2014’s NLDS Game 3 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals (2,887,000 viewers) that aired on a Monday starting at 9:00 PM ET on FS1.
Through Game 3 of both of the National League’s Divisional Series, FS1 is averaging 3,140,000 viewers, up +35% over its coverage of last year’s ALDS through Game 3’s (2,320,000 viewers) and +7% over NLDS coverage at the same point (2,937,000 viewers) in 2014.
Last night’s game peaked at 4,951,000 viewers between 11:30pm – 12:00am ET, and did not fall below 3 million viewers from that point through the game’s final out. When combined with FOX Deportes’ peak of 139,000 viewers, last night’s game topped out at over 5 million viewers between 11:30pm – 12:00am ET.
FOX Deportes delivered 101,000 total viewers for Monday night’s Cubs at Giants broadcast, +11% above total viewers for its presentation from Game 3 of last year’s ALDS between the Blue Jays and Rangers (91,000 total viewers).
FS1 and FOX Deportes air a pair of NLDS Game 4’s today as the Nationals visit the Dodgers at 5:00 PM ET followed by the Cubs taking on the Giants at 8:30 PM ET.
