FOX Sports Presents FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022™

32 Match Tournament Featuring Future Stars of Women’s Soccer Kicks Off August 10th  

LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports, America’s English-language home for the world’s top international soccer tournaments, today presents its 32-match broadcast schedule for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022™.

Featuring 16 nations and the future stars of women's soccer facing off on the world stage, the 10th edition of the biennial competition opens play Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 12:50 PM ET with Germany vs. Colombia on FOX Soccer Plus, while the U.S. U-20 Women’s Youth National Team make their tournament debut vs. Ghana on Thursday, Aug. 11, at 12:50 PM ET on FS2. Matches throughout the tournament will air live on FS1, FS2 and FOX Soccer Plus concluding with the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Final on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 9:55 PM ET on FS1.

Estadio Nacional, located in Costa Rica’s capital city of San José, and Estadio Morera Sota in Alajuela, will serve as host stadiums for the tournament. Four countries have been crowned FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup champions since the competition’s inception in 2002, including Germany, Japan, Korea DPR and the U.S.

FOX SPORTS SOCCER BROADCASTERS

Expert voices JP Dellacamera, Kate Scott and John Strong will serve as play-by-play announcers for matches on FS1, while soccer champions Aly Wagner, Lori Lindsey, Danielle Slaton and Leslie Osborne provide expert color commentary as match analysts.

• JP Dellacamera is FOX Sports’ lead women’s soccer play-by-play announcer. He is regarded as one of the original voices of U.S. Soccer with a broadcasting career spanning 30 years and brings decades of experience covering a total of 15 FIFA World Cups™ (nine men’s, six women’s) across television and radio.
• Aly Wagner is FOX Sports’ lead soccer match analyst for women’s competitions. A two-time Olympic gold medalist and FIFA Women’s World Cup™ veteran, she made U.S. English-language TV history as the first woman to call a men’s FIFA World Cup™ match in 2018. Playing for the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) from 1999 to 2008, she scored 21 goals and recorded 42 assists in 131 international matches.
• Kate Scott returns to FOX Sports after making her network debut last year as play-by-play announcer during CONMEBOL Copa America and Concacaf Gold Cup matches. She currently serves as play-by-play announcer for Philadelphia 76ers NBA games on NBC Sports Philadelphia.
• John Strong currently serves as FOX Sports’ lead soccer play-by-play announcer for men’s competitions and has been a fixture at the network since joining full-time in 2015. He is the voice of many of the biggest matches FOX Sports has to offer across several properties and will return as lead play-by-play announcer at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ later this year.
• Lori Lindsey joins FOX Sports’ broadcast team as a match analyst after making her network debut in June. She also called select CONMEBOL Women’s Copa America matches last month. Her 13-year playing career highlights include representing the USWNT at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup™ in Germany and helping Team USA win the 2012 Olympic Gold Medal in London.
• Danielle Slaton is a studio and match analyst on FOX Soccer telecasts. She called FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™, FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™, Women’s World Cup qualifying and previous U-20 and U-17 Women’s World Cups matches for the network. Slaton played soccer for the USWNT from 2000 - 2005, earning a silver medal at the 2000 Olympic Games and a bronze at the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003™.
• Leslie Osborne made her FIFA World Cup™ studio analyst debut during FOX Sports’ coverage of the 2015 women’s tournament and returned for the network’s FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ presentation in the same role. A USWNT veteran, Osborne was named a finalist for U.S. Soccer Women’s Player of the Year in 2006 and appeared in 62 games for the national team during her playing career.
