Top-Ranked UFC Middleweight Gastelum and Host Fitzgerald Make Desk Debut with Woodley and Florian for FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT: RIVERA VS. MORAES

Anik and Smith Call Rare Friday Night Fights on FS1 and FOX Sports GO

LOS ANGELES – Today, FOX Sports announces No. 4-ranked UFC middleweight Kelvin Gastelum makes his desk analyst debut alongside UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, retired title contender Kenny Florian and Brendan Fitzgerald, who is making his host debut, for FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT: RIVERA VS. MORAES on Friday, June 1.

“I’m really excited to work on the television broadcast,” says Gastelum. “This is something I’ve dreamed of doing for a long time and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a great night of fights and especially looking forward to Moraes vs. Rivera.”

Blow-by-blow announcer Jon Anik and veteran MMA analyst Jimmy Smith call the bouts live Octagon-side from Utica, New York for the rare Friday UFC FIGHT NIGHT. Laura Sanko adds reports and interviews fighters on-site. In addition, Mario Delgado and Victor Davila call the fights in Spanish on FOX Deportes.

The show’s headliner features an anticipated bantamweight showdown between top contenders No. 4-ranked Jimmie Rivera (21-1) and No. 5 “Magic” Marlon Moraes (20-5-1). In the co-main event, New York’s own lightweight standout, undefeated Gregor Gillespie (11-0) puts his unbeaten record on the line against knockout artist Vinc Pichel (11-1).

FOX Sports UFC programming begins Thursday, May 31 (4:00 PM ET), with the FS1 UFC WEIGH-IN SHOW on FS2 and FOX Sports GO with Fitzgerald, Woodley and Florian in studio discussing the fights, while Sanko reports onsite. Gastelum joins Fitzgerald, Florian and Woodley on the FOX Sports desk for Friday’s UFC FIGHT NIGHT PREFIGHT SHOW on FS2 and FOX Sports GO (7:30 PM ET), previewing the evening’s fights.

The two-hour UFC FIGHT NIGHT PRELIMS begin at 8:00 PM ET on FS1, FOX Deportes and FOX Sports GO with four exciting bouts. No. 2-ranked flyweight Sijara Eubanks (3-2) battles No. 3 Lauren Murphy (10-3), while lightweights Nik Lentz (30-8-2, 1NC) and David Teymur (7-1) tangle. Belal Muhammad (13-2) and Chance Rencountre (12-2) square off at 170 pounds. Plus, Desmond Green (20-6) and Gleison Tibau (40-13) open the PRELIMS with a lightweight clash.

The three-hour main card continues on FS1, FOX Deportes and FOX Sports GO at 10:00 PM ET and features four more action-packed bouts, in addition to the Rivera vs. Moraes headliner and Gillespie vs. Pichel fight. Walt Harris (10-7) faces Daniel Spitz (6-1) in a heavyweight bout. Welterweight veterans Jake Ellenberger (31-13) and Ben Saunders (21-9-2) meet. Julio Arce (14-2) and Daniel Teymur (6-1) square off in a 145-pound battle. Plus, No. 15-ranked Gian Villante (16-9) and Sam Alvey (32-10, 1NC) open the main card with a light heavyweight bout.

The action wraps up immediately following the main event with the FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT POSTFIGHT SHOW, where Fitzgerald, Gastelum, Woodley and Florian recap the event, while Sanko interviews fighters.
