WWE Roadblock 2016: Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns Set

Kevin Owens will defend the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns at the WWE Roadblock: End of the Line PPV.

The Kevin Owens Show is rolling into Pittsburgh for the WWE Roadblock: End of the Line PPV, but the biggest obstacle the champ will face is the Big Dog, Roman Reigns. It’s now official that Owens will defend the Universal Championship against U.S. champ Roman Reigns on December 18th.

How did it come about? In surprisingly clean fashion. Tonight’s Raw began with an apparent splitting-up of the friendship between Owens and Chris Jericho after Mick Foley and Roman Reigns interrupted their love fest on The Highlight Reel. Reigns challenged Owens to actually win a match without Jericho by his side, and the champ angrily agreed that he didn’t need any help.

The match between Reigns and Owens went back-and-forth, but it was Reigns who nailed a couple of Superman Punches followed by a devastating pin for the clean pin. No interference. No screwjob. Nothing. Even the crowd seemed stunned.

Owens had a ready excuse, claiming he was distracted by the fate of Jericho, who took a vicious Pedigree on top of a car by Seth Rollins. Chances are by then the two best friends will be back and trading Christmas presents like good best friends do.

Right now Owens vs. Reigns is the only title match set for Roadblock: End of the Line, which will be the final PPV of the year. It takes place on December 18th from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.
