The Rock called CM Punk in the middle of a WWE ring

After Monday night's episode of WWE Raw went off the air, fans inside the Staples Center were treated to an experience that can only be described as surreal. WWE legend The Rock, who did not appear on Raw, was in town to film a scene from an upcoming wrestling movie called "Fighting With My Family." The film will tell the life story of former WWE Divas Champion Paige - who has been absent from WWE since last summer due to a combination of suspensions and injuries.

As soon as Raw ended with Braun Strowman defeating The Big Show (and then taking out Roman Reigns), The Rock brought cameramen into the ring and the crew filmed different reaction shots that will be edited into the film, and closed the night by shooting the movie's finale - Paige's main roster debut against AJ Lee the night after WrestleMania XXX.

With wrestler Thea Trinidad playing the role of AJ Lee, it didn't take long for the crowd to go off script with deafening "CM Punk" chants - Punk is AJ Lee's husband - and The Rock responded by calling CM Punk in the center of the ring.

Punk didn't pick up and the call went to voicemail, but The Rock left a message along with the thousands of fans in attendance.
