The Rock called CM Punk in the middle of a WWE ring
After Monday night’s episode of WWE Raw went off the air, fans inside the Staples Center were treated to an experience that can only be described as surreal. WWE legend The Rock, who did not appear on Raw, was in town to film a scene from an upcoming wrestling movie called “Fighting With My Family.” The film will tell the life story of former WWE Divas Champion Paige – who has been absent from WWE since last summer due to a combination of suspensions and injuries.
As soon as Raw ended with Braun Strowman defeating The Big Show (and then taking out Roman Reigns), The Rock brought cameramen into the ring and the crew filmed different reaction shots that will be edited into the film, and closed the night by shooting the movie’s finale – Paige’s main roster debut against AJ Lee the night after WrestleMania XXX.

With wrestler Thea Trinidad playing the role of AJ Lee, it didn’t take long for the crowd to go off script with deafening “CM Punk” chants – Punk is AJ Lee’s husband – and The Rock responded by calling CM Punk in the center of the ring.
FINALLY… @theatrinidadtmt our #DivasChampion. Our @sevenbucksprod is proud to welcome Thea to our #FightingWithMyFamily cast! Casting the right woman to play our champion was critical. I wanted to keep the integrity of our movie's authenticity. We had to find a woman who not only has a real star quality, but she also had to have a real reverence and love for our unique wrestling business. Thea has been working extremely hard for years on the independent wrestling circuit and for those who understand what that means – you know how much one has to love our crazy business to work independently for years. She has a star quality, great presence, humility and is always all about being, "the hardest worker in the room". She's working her butt off to put on an outstanding performance in our movie. Congrats, Thea and welcome to the cast. Let's put in that work and move the crowd. #FightingWithMyFamily #TheaTrinidad #DivasChampion #SevenBucksProds #MisherFilms #Film4 #WWEFilms

Punk didn’t pick up and the call went to voicemail, but The Rock left a message along with the thousands of fans in attendance.
Thanks Los Angeles. Nice to hear from you. @STAPLESCenter
