Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton Need to Win WWE SmackDown’s Tag Titles
With the recent addition of Randy Orton, The Wyatt Family needs to win the Smackdown Tag Team Championships with Bray Wyatt at WWE TLC.
Smackdown Live has quickly lived up to its reputation of “The Land of Opportunity”. The brand has created and reestablished stars that would’ve never gotten the opportunity over on Monday Night RAW. The Wyatt Family, led by Bray Wyatt, are three of these stars who have really elevated themselves since being on Tuesday nights.
After being gone for close to a year, Randy Orton returned to WWE at the end of the summer. He got drafted with Smackdown Live’s fourth pick The Viper, and entered a feud with RAW’s Brock Lesnar. He would come up short against The Beast at Summerslam, but quickly go into a feud with Wyatt.
The two were scheduled to face each other at Backlash. However, Wyatt attacked Orton in the back and the match was canceled. The two then faced each other at No Mercy. After a returning Luke Harper interfered in the match, Wyatt left the match victorious.
It seemed likely that the two would clash one more time at the TLC event, however, in a shocking move, Randy Orton joined The Wyatt Family. While many felt that Orton was doing this, to eventually turn on Wyatt that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
Wyatt and Orton, along with Luke Harper, have transitioned into one of the most dominant tandems on Smackdown Live. In fact, the Master of the RKO showed his true allegiance to the Family when he sacrificed himself during the Survivor Series.
In the closing moments of the match, Orton threw Wyatt out of the way taking an oncoming spear from Roman Reigns. This allowed Wyatt to hit Sister Abigail on Reigns to win the match and giving Smackdown Live the win.
This past week on Smackdown Live, American Alpha won a tag team gauntlet with their reward being a Tag Team Championship match. However, after the match, Orton and Wyatt appeared on the screen claiming that American Alpha would be facing Orton and Wyatt next week on Smackdown Live for the opportunity. While it was not specified this match was most likely given to Orton and Wyatt for winning at Survivor Series.

On Tuesday, Orton and Wyatt should beat American Alpha and then head off to TLC to face Heath Slater and Rhyno. The duo should defeat Slater and Rhyno and start their reign as the WWE Tag Champions.
It has been a long time since WWE had a powerhouse main event tandem like Orton and Wyatt in the tag division. Their presence in the division would instantly boost the new division on Smackdown and give it instant credibility.
The duo could leave a path of destruction, taking down every team that comes in their way. This would both boost both Orton and Wyatt as dominant forces but also help establish the new tag championships as well.
They could then down the road lose the belts to a team like American Alpha when they are ready. With Chad Gable and Jason Jordan still being new to the main roster, WWE should save their moment for a major event like WrestleMania to finally win the titles.
While people still feel and believe Randy Orton will turn on Bray Wyatt, WWE should let these two stay together and reign supreme in the Smackdown Tag Team Division.
With WWE lacking major star power in the tag division, these two could start a trend of main event talents coming together and trying to win the Tag Gold. While the conclusion of the Orton vs. Wyatt feud does need to happen, it shouldn’t occur still for some time. The Smackdown Tag Division will be better with Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt together, then feuding.
