Texas women’s guard McKoy to have surgery

Texas sophomore guard Shanice McKoy will have reconstructive

surgery on her right knee and will miss the 2011-2012 season.

Texas women’s trainer Tina Bonci says McKoy injured the anterior

cruciate ligament and will have surgery Monday. McKoy played in 14

games last season with one start.

Freshman guard Cassie Peoples had surgery July 25 to fix a

chronic stress fracture in her lower left leg but is expected to

play next season. Peoples will not travel with the Longhorns on

their 10-day European tour starting Friday.
