Antonita Slaughter scored a career-high 23 points to lead No. 15

Louisville past Gardner-Webb 92-27 Saturday.

Slaughter made 7 of 9 3-pointers and Shoni Schimmel added 12

points for the Cardinals. Catrina Green led the Bulldogs with 11


Louisville (8-2, 0-0 Big East) scored the first 10 points and

never looked back, forcing GWU into seven of its 36 turnovers in

the first 3:16. GWU went nearly four minutes before getting its

first shot off.

The Cardinals took a 35-7 lead, highlighted by four of

Slaughter’s 3-pointers, all assisted by Jude Schimmel. Senior

Monique Reid scored Louisville’s next eight points and Louisville

led 44-14 at halftime.

GWU (0-8, 0-0 Big South) traded baskets with Louisville for the

first three minutes of the second half. A layup from Green made it

51-19 with 17:05 remaining.

The Cardinals went on a 24-4 run in the next 10 minutes.
