Ferreira, No. 22 South Florida women beat Albany 74-37

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Laura Ferreira had 21 points, six rebounds and four assists to help No. 22 South Florida beat Albany 74-37 Friday night.

Ferreira made a career-high nine field goals on 12 attempts. Kitija Laska added 13 points, on just 4-of-15 shooting, and Sydni Harvey scored 10 for USF (2-0). Alyssa Rader grabbed 12 boards and Tamara Henshaw 11 as the Bulls outrebounded Albany 52-29.

Harvey and Laska hit back-to-back 3-pointers during a 12-0 run that made it 19-4 late in the first quarter and USF, which never trailed, led by double figures the rest of the way.

Amanda Kantzy finished with 17 points and was the only Albany (0-1) player to score more than four. The Great Danes, who made just two of their first 13 field-goal attempts, shot 24 percent (14 of 58) overall.

Beatriz Jordao had seven points, nine rebounds and four blocks for the Bulls.
