6-time All-Star McWilliams-Franklin added to Wings staff

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Six-time WNBA All-Star Taj McWilliams-Franklin has been named an assistant coach for the Dallas Wings.

The addition of McWilliams-Franklin to coach Fred Williams' staff was announced Monday, a little less than two months before the Wings open training camp on April 23.

In addition to playing overseas, McWilliams-Franklin played 14 WNBA seasons, making the playoffs nine times and winning championships with the Washington Mystics in 2008 and the Minnesota Lynx in 2011. She averaged 11.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in 440 regular-season games.

McWilliams-Franklin was head women's coach at Post University in Connecticut the last two years. The Eagles finished 3-24 this season.

At St. Edward's University, she was the NAIA national player of the year in 1993.
