Wisconsin, Northwestern to play at Wrigley Field in 2020

CHICAGO --Northwestern will play Wisconsin at Wrigley Field in 2020.

The Wildcats and Chicago Cubs announced Tuesday the Big Ten schools will meet at the Friendly Confines on Nov. 7, 2020.

Northwestern will be returning to Wrigley Field for the first time since the one-way game against Illinois in November 2010 -- the first college football game there since 1938. Both teams had to run their offensive plays toward the end zone near the third-base dugout because the back of the other end zone came too close to the right-field wall.

The ballpark has undergone extensive renovations since. Removable seats installed down the left-field line will allow teams to play toward both end zones. The NFL's Chicago Bears played at Wrigley from 1921-1970.

Wisconsin will also play Notre Dame at Lambeau Field in 2020.
