The University of Wisconsin has some work to do with the College Football Playoff on the horizon.

The Badgers rose one spot to No. 7 in the latest ranking, trailing Louisville and Ohio State, as well as current playoff teams Washington, Michigan, Clemson and Alabama.

Wisconsin is 7-2 after beating unranked Northwestern last week, and faces Illinois on Saturday, before finishing off the season with games against Purdue and Minnesota.

The Badgers can clinch the Big Ten West with wins in their last three games.
