Two assistants under Williams have left Marquette

MILWAUKEE — Assistant coaches Isaac Chew and Brad Autry have left the Marquette men’s basketball program and are no longer listed on the team’s roster following the departure of head coach Buzz Williams to Virginia Tech.

Multiple reports have both following Williams and joining his staff with the Hokies.

Assistant coach Jerry Wainwright is the only member of the staff still listed on Marquette’s official website and will be helping with the transition to a new coaching staff.

Chew spent two seasons working with Williams, leaving Illinois just two months after being hired to come to Marquette in May of 2012. He broke into the Division I ranks as an assistant coach under Billy Kennedy at Murray State in 2007. Chew spent the 2011-12 season as an assistant under Frank Haith at Missouri.

Autry was at Marquette for all six years of Williams’ tenure, spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach. He was the coordinator of student-athlete development in his first four years with the Golden Eagles. Autry previously served as an assistant coach at Arkansas-Little Rock, Baylor and Tulsa. He served as interim head coach when Williams was suspended for the Big East opener in 2013.
