Milwaukee Bucks star Jabari Parker's recovery from his second ACL tear is expected to take 12 months.

Jabari Parker's recovery has begun.

Parker had surgery Tuesday to repair his left ACL, a procedure that is expected to keep the young Milwaukee Bucks star out for the next year.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Robert LaPrade at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado.

A first-round pick of the Bucks in 2014, Parker was in the midst of a career season when his knee buckled during a game against the Miami Heat on Feb. 8.

Parker averaged 20.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in 51 games prior to the injury, all career highs.

The injury is a concerning development for Parker, who missed most of his rookie season after tearing the same ACL on Dec. 15, 2014.
