Brewers option Wooten to Triple-A, call up Kintzler

Following Thursday’s loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Milwaukee Brewers optioned right-hander Rob Wooten to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Right-hander Brandon Kintzler will join the team Friday after having his contract purchased.

Wooten has a 12.00 ERA in four appearances after allowing five runs in 1 2/3 innings in Thursday’s loss to the Dodgers.

The Brewers optioned Kintzler to Triple-A on March 29 and outrighted him off the 40-man roster on April 23.

Kintzler has pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings for the Sky Sox this season. He spent time on the disabled list in April with a nail avulsion on his right middle finger.
